XRP falls back as Litecoin rises – crypto movers and shakers

Ripple’s XRP coin has dropped 7% in value in 24 hours.

After climbing 17% to $1.68 in 24 hours at this time (7am) yesterday, it fell back to $1.56 on Friday morning with a market cap of more than $71 billion.

Dogecoin fell 5% in 24 hours, making it a 16% drop in 48 hours having rocketed an astonishing 57% in the previous 24 hours.

Originally created as a joke – and based on a meme – DOGE has benefited from the support of SpaceX and Tesla entrepreneur Elon Musk, who is set to host Saturday Night Live.

Bitcoin (BTC) is at $55,750, down more than 2% in 24 hours but up 3% in the last seven days.

Altcoin Litecoin (LTC) is up 4% to $350 and is up 34% in a week.

Ethereum (ETH), held relatively steady at around £3,400, up 24% on this time last Friday.

The biggest rises in the 24-hour period were Bitcoin Diamond (BCD), up 83% to $6.55 (up 187.86% in seven days), and QTUM, up 69% to $31.79 (up 120.15% in seven days).

Bitcoin Gold (BTG) saw the biggest drop, down 12% in 24 hours to $132.39 but still up 47.66% on this time last week.
