Argo Blockchain PLC updates on boardroom reshuffle

New appointments include three non-executive directors and the elevation of finance director Alex Appleton to executive director level

(, , ) issued an update on several board appointments and resignations.

The cryptocurrency miner said it appointed Colleen Sullivan, Maria Perrella, and Sarah Gow as independent non-executive directors (NEDs) and Alex Appleton as an executive director, effective from July 29.

Sullivan is currently the chief executive of CMT Digital, a division of crypto-asset trading and blockchain investment firm CMT Group. Perrella previously served as chief financial officer of Canadian international space mission partner MDA. Gow brings over 19 years of experience in the banking industry, including more than 11 years at Citigroup Asset Management where she served as a director of global operations in New York as well as the head of operations in London.

Appleton has served as Argo’s finance director since September 2020 and has been elevated to director level as a result of his “increasing responsibilities and valuable contributions”. The firm also formally announced the appointment of Perry Hothi as its chief technology officer.

Argo also said Marco D’Attanasio and James Savage have resigned as NEDs and Ian Macleod has resigned as executive chairman. CEO Peter Wall has been appointed as interim chairman and is anticipated to hold the position until a suitable replacement candidate is identified.
