This week, the floodgates for blockchain sandbox MMORPG EVE Frontier open, as this past Friday brought on a free trial for the game running between now and Monday, April 21st, granting players another opportunity to check out the hardcore survival sandbox promising modability via the blockchain without buying a founder’s pack.
The free trial comes as the game begins its third cycle, otherwise known as a full economic reset, which should put everyone on roughly even footing as well as what CCP classes as a way for players to become more efficient and learn from past cycles to make them “sharper, faster, deadlier.”
An associated livestream at the start of the cycle further pointed out that “not much” has changed with the reset as CCP continues economy testing. The rest of the broadcast was another round of extolling Frontier’s virtues and answering some questions about how blockchain “smart assemblies” will have a default mode to let players make in-game things quickly, slow efforts on building out a combat system, and making space travel engaging.
