In celebration of National Recovery Month, 33 Forever, NAMI Richland County, the Mansfield Playhouse and the Richland County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board have joined together to offer a free event that focuses on suicide prevention.
Suicide: The Ripple Effect is a documentary created by Kevin Hines, who miraculously survived jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge at age 19. It will be shown at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Playhouse, 95 E. Third St.
Hines has since become a long-time advocate who spends his time helping others heal and stay alive. The documentary focuses on the lasting effects of suicide and the positive ripple effect of recovery, advocacy and hope.
The organizations behind this event encourage everyone to attend the Mansfield Playhouse for the free showing of this impactful documentary. Come and be inspired while you learn about advocacy and prevention and the impact they can have on others. Refreshments will be provided at the event at no cost to those who attend.
